5 Days Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safari

You will be picked up from your lodge in Kampala as you drive to Kibale forest national park. The drive is quite long but thrilling as it takes you through the lush countryside of Mityana, Mubende, Kyenjojo, Fort Portal town and later to Kibale forest national park. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing and later proceed to the forest in search for the chimpanzees. As you transcend the forest be on the lookout for other primates such as monkeys and baboons. Upon meeting the chimpanzee, you will spend a maximum of one hour with them while interacting and taking photos. Later retire to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch you will head for a scenic nature walk at Bigodi swamps searching for butterflies and several bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Early in the morning after breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Bwindi forest national park. The drive takes approximately 6 and a half hours with scenic views of the Ugandan countryside, terraced hills, and plantations. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Early in the morning, you transfer to the briefing point to be acquainted with the gorilla trekking rules. Headed with a guide you will proceed to the jungles in search for the gorillas. The trekking exercise is an awesome activity but it requires a little bit of fitness to be able to transcend through the muddy slopes especially during the rainy season when the terrain is slippery. Continue to the forest and upon meeting the gorillas you will spend a maximum of one hour with them. Later head back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Early in the morning after breakfast, you check out of the lodge and drive back to Kampala. Arrive in the early evening and be dropped at the airport in time for your scheduled flight or be transferred to any place of your choice.
